Super Bowl I
Memorial Coliseum
LA California
Now known as the first "super bowl" the game was actually titled the first "World Championship Game" between the AFL and NFL. Played in LA, this game drew 61,000 fans and was considered a "novelty" game that probably wouldn't last. The player's were excited because the winning team would recieve a bonus of $15,000 per player and the losing team would recieve $7500 per player. The game's result did not suprise anyone as the Packers were considered the best team in the NFL and the AFL was considered a sub par league. Len Dawson Quarterbacked the KC Chiefs and Bart Starr led the Packers to the Victory and collected the MVP.
